20-Year Frame Warranty

Our 20-Year Frame Warranty: What It Covers and Why It Matters

When you invest in a metal building, whether it’s a garage, carport, barn, or commercial space, you want it to last for years, right? However, some structures don’t remain as strong as you expected because they require regular maintenance. That’s why warranties matter so much. They protect your purchase and give you peace of mind for several years.

We provide a 20-year frame warranty, so you don’t have to face such a situation and get the most out of your structure. Our 20-year limited rust-through warranty on the frame of our metal buildings ensures strength and durability. So your structure can bear elements without requiring you to spend on repair and replacement for this period.

Be aware of all the warranty details, as this will help you make an informed decision. We have highlighted what is covered, what is not, and why this warranty is a great benefit for you as a steel building buyer.

What is A Frame Warranty?

Before you get into the details, let’s start with the basics by understanding what a frame warranty is. It is a promise by a building installer that it will take care of all the repairs and replacements in the structure for a certain period. So, the steel frame of your building will last for a certain number of years without rusting through.

In our case, that’s 20 years!

If any part of your steel frame rusts through from normal use during this time, we will repair or replace it. Well, it is subject to warranty conditions, of course.

What Does the 20-Year Warranty Cover?

Not all metal building warranties are the same. Different dealers offer different coverage based on their materials, quality, and policies. That’s why it’s super important to read and understand the warranty details before you make a purchase.

At our company, we offer a 20-Year Limited Rust-Through Warranty on specific types of structures. This warranty gives you confidence that your steel frame will stay strong and rust-free under normal conditions.

Our warranty is available on specific parts and building styles. Here’s what’s included:

  • 12-Gauge Framing: This is our thicker and stronger steel frame. If you choose the 12-gauge option, you are automatically eligible for the 20-year rust-through warranty. The thickness of the steel frames makes the structure stronger and more durable than 14-gauge steel. It’s ideal for areas with heavy snow or strong winds.
  • Vertical Roof Style – Any Length: If you opt for a vertical roof style where the panels run up and down, your entire building qualifies for the warranty. In this case, the length of the structure does not matter. Why is this so? Because vertical roofs drain water, snow, and debris more efficiently. They last longer and need less cleaning.
  • Regular Style Roof – Up to 31 Feet Long: If you choose the classic, rounded, regular style roof, the warranty applies to buildings up to 31 feet in length. The warranty does not apply to structures longer than this size. Always check these types of specific details before buying a prefab structure.
  • Boxed Eave Style Roof – Up to 31 Feet Long: If you want a boxed eave style roof for your metal building longer than 31 feet, you will not get the cover. Because, for the boxed eave style roof, we cover up to 31 feet long structure, not more than that.
  • Lifetime Warranty on Certified Units: Moreover, if you buy a Certified building, you get limited lifetime coverage for wind and snow loads. That means your building is guaranteed to stand strong against heavy weather as long as it’s properly installed and maintained.

Note: Certification means your building meets local codes for wind and snow. It is great for states with extreme climates.

What Our Warranty Does NOT Cover?

There are some things that we don’t cover. Let’s keep it real, you know that no warranty is unlimited. Here is a list of conditions that can void your warranty:

  • Chemical Damage: If your steel garage, barn, shed, or any other structure bought from us gets damaged due to chemical exposure, like from fertilizers, fuels, or corrosive fumes, it’s not covered.
  • Contact with Moisture-Holding Materials: Sometimes, when structures are installed on the land with moist soils, they become more fragile to the elements. Touching soil, wet timber, ashes, or treated wood can cause corrosion easily. If your frame rusts due to this, it’s not covered.
  • Lack of Drainage or Cleaning: You must maintain your structure through daily cleaning practices, such as washing and mopping. Because water accumulation and other elements can lead to moisture buildup that weakens the structure over time. Water needs to drain freely, inside and out.
  • Corrosive Environments: If the building is located in an extremely corrosive environment, such as near salty water bodies or industrial areas, the warranty doesn’t apply. Because then the structure is in a volatile place.
  • Acts of God: We do not provide a warranty against damage caused by natural disasters, such as hurricanes, earthquakes, and major storms. This is pretty standard for warranties.

Your Responsibilities as the Owner

Together, we can extend the lifespan of your structure. To keep your warranty valid, you need to do your part. It’s not a “set it and forget it” deal.

Here’s what you should be doing to strengthen the structure and make warranty implementation easier.

  • Timely Cleaning
Wash the painted surface once a year with mild soap and clean water. This keeps the surface free from grime and corrosive agents. But don’t use harsh chemicals or cleaners. These can damage the paint and speed up corrosion.
  • Remove Debris
If there are trees near your steel structure and you live in a snow-prone area, leaves, twigs, and snow buildup can happen easily. It’s not good for the structural integrity of the building. Trapped water or block drainage, don’t let water sit; this mostly happens when debris is stuck inside.
  • Inspect Regularly
Check your metal garage regularly to find the early signs of rust. It helps to avoid major issues caused by corrosion that can even reduce the lifespan of your building. So, check for rust spots or scratches and touch them up if needed. Catching problems early can prevent bigger issues.

Why This Warranty Is a Big Deal?

You can simply buy any metal structure, but why care about choosing the features covered in the warranty? So, what exactly makes you care about the warranty?

Let us break it down simply:

  • It Protects Your Investment
The first thing to note is that it protects your investment. The upfront cost of the structure can be higher, but in the long run, it provides benefits that help you get the most out of your investment. So, with a 20-year frame warranty, you protect your money and ensure long-term use.
  • Peace of Mind During Harsh Weather
Imagine it’s just 3 years since you installed a structure, and you are bearing all the expenses related to repair and replacement. This way, you can end up wasting your precious time and resources that you could easily save otherwise. Moreover, if you live in areas with rain, snow, or strong winds, you want your building to last. The warranty gives you confidence that your frame will not fail, and the dealer will handle the major repairs.
  • Shows the Strength of Our Materials
20 years warranty, such a long time. We will be with you for two decades. It is because we have trust in what we are offering. We would not offer a 20-year warranty if we weren’t confident in the quality of our steel. Our buildings are made to last.
  • Adds Resale Value
If you are thinking long-term, going for the warranty can be a win-win for you. Because it adds resale value. A building with a long warranty can add value to your property. It shows that it’s well-built and low-maintenance.

Should You Choose the 12-Gauge Upgrade?

Yes, if you are serious about durability and want peace of mind.

The 12-gauge frame is thicker and tougher than the standard 14-gauge frame. A structure made of 14-gauge steel components is also strong, but not as much as a 12-gauge steel structure. The 12-gauge gives you the added bonus of a 20-year warranty. Think of it like paying a bit more for long-term peace of mind.

Carports Advisor: Where Quality Meets Guaranteed Peace of Mind

A 20-year frame warranty is not just a selling point; it’s a symbol of trust. It tells you that the building you are buying is made from high-quality steel and built to stand the test of time. Of course, like any warranty, it comes with terms. But if you follow the maintenance rules and use your building in standard environments, you are well protected.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. Can I transfer the warranty if I sell the building?

Usually, no. Because most warranties are valid only for the original building buyer.

Q2. Is rust on the surface covered?

No. Only rust through the metal that affects the strength of the frame is covered.

Q3. Does the warranty cover damage from snow or wind?

Only certified units come with a limited lifetime warranty for wind and snow loads. Standard buildings without certification are not covered for weather-related damage.

Q4. What if my building rusts because of poor maintenance?

Unfortunately, the warranty will not cover rust caused by poor upkeep, like if you let debris pile up or do not clean the structure. This is why regular maintenance is important.
